Orang Asli Performance Receives ‘Good’ Signal From PM

PUTRAJAYA: The performance of Gema Orang Asal by Kumpulan Bah Bola at the intersection of the Ministry of Federal Territories, here amazed national leaders including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and participants of the Berjalan Teguh Bersama program, who stopped by to witness the performance while participating in walking activities.
Using traditional musical instruments such as the snong, bamboo kertuk and gong, the Bah Bola Group plays the original Orang Asli rhythms, the Bah Bola and Geradong songs, accompanied by the Sewang Orang Asli dance.
Ismail Sabri, a member of the Malaysian Cabinet and Family who was participating in the walking activity from Dataran Putra through the intersection of the Ministry of Federal Territories at about 8.35 in the morning when he was greeted by the performance of the Orang Asli.
The Prime Minister holding the Jalur Gemilang also gave a ‘good’ gesture to the Bah Bola group led by Bah Sali Bah Nap who wore clothes and head ornaments made of bark.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid also danced with the group of Bah Bola dancers who used tree branches as accessories in the dance.
The 2.7-kilometer Walk Strong Together program was held in conjunction with the Launch of the National Month and the Flying of the Jalur Gemilang and was attended by more than 15,000 Malaysian Families.
The program with the concept of leisurely mass walking activities with the family that carries the message of the spirit of unity and togetherness of Malaysians is one of the initiatives to support the aspirations of the Malaysian Family.
Bah Sali, 47, who was met by Bernama, said he and his team were proud to be able to perform in front of Ismail Sabri in a Malaysian Family concept program.
He who referred to himself as ‘Atuk’ said that although he had performed over 100 performances in front of the leaders of other countries before, this performance felt ‘different’ because in addition to being in front of the public, members of the Cabinet also witnessed their performances up close.
“Grandpa is very happy and thanks the PM (Ismail Sabri) for stopping by to watch our children’s performance. Grandpa feels proud and respected by the country’s government,” he said.
The Orang Asli performance was also accompanied by cheers from the crowd, and some danced along and took the opportunity to take souvenir photos with the Bah Bola Group. – BERNAMA
