TEMIAR LONG HOUSE
Usually used by the Negrito and Senoi tribes, especially the Temiar people in the hinterland. Measuring 40-50 meters long and 10 meters wide. The house is made of wood as a frame while the walls are made of bamboo and the roof is made of tama leaves that are woven and tied with rattan.
SEMELAI HOUSE
The traditional residence of the Orang Asli of the Native Malay tribe. Its area is about 30 x 30 feet while its height is 4-5 feet from the ground. The walls of the house are made of bark while the roof is made of nipah leaves. The entire house does not use nails but is tied using rattan or tree roots. Has a window but no kitchen.
RUMAH PISANG SESIKAT
Rumah Pisang Sesikat ("House of a Bunch of Bananas") is used by the Orang Asli tribe in Malaysia as a temporary residence. Usually used as a shelter when waiting for a permanent residence to be built or when working in the fields or hunting. This house uses wood as a frame while the roof is made of bertam leaves. It has no walls, only a platform used to rest, sleep and eat.
